Our History:

Our Institute “R. Valturio”  is one of the oldest and prestigious  schools of our city.

It was founded in 1873 by Royal Decree as a nautical institute then it spread  and, in 1919 acquired the name called “R. Valturio”.

Our school has deep roots in the history of our city boasting the tradition of a school very tied up with the cultural-formative aspects and with vocational training.

In this sense, the history of our institute is based upon  a meeting and mediation between Education and Training.

Economic History from which we operate and our vocational aim.

The economic background in which we work is characterized by a large number of firms(13 for every 100 inhabitants) the 25,7% of these being artisan in typology. The production sectors in which these firms operate are mainly two:

The tourist industry and connected activities(trade, communication, leisure and cultural activities);

The manufacturing industries: above all the machines processing  wood, precision mechanics, the shoe industry, the textile industry and the book trade.

These, then are industries which treat at tourism but we include  here also those small and average companies producing both traditional and innovative goods, therefore affording themselves the possibility of entering into as well as foreign markets.

With support from the entrepreneurial world inside analysis of the economic climate in our area, has given us many hints in regard to student-training methodology.

We require all this:

Main aspects during the school years:

-knowledge of the process of management and administration in a company;

-a good knowledge of foreign languages;

-the ability to use a computer;

Innovative input based on skill acquisition:

-capacity to communicate and work in a team, establishing an ethos of  cooperation  in which ideas can freely be exchanged;

-flexibility: to be able to harvest innovation  and to work at different duties.

The economic background described above offers great opportunities respecting employment prospects for our  students who become accountants; these abilities are in great demand in many companies and especially book-keeping.

Our offer to students.
